The Good
This area has remained this way since school started. Hooray!! It is all the extra books for reading and social studies organized in the units so I can just go grab a section.
The "morning table" for lunch count and attendance. But you can notice papers on the floor from the reading area- not so good.
The supplies drawers. These have looked pretty good all year. Considering students are more responsible for this area it works well.
My quick new teacher shelf...see previous post to see how I got this.
Getting Ugly
The calendar area which has turned into my computer area due to the fact the smartboard hook up is right there. It has become a dumping ground for me. Not too bad but still left math workshop materials there and social studies books. I started storing markers and pens in the container that has students' popsicles.
The guided reading groups and art table. Aka another dumping ground. That is our cloud project waiting to be put into students' mailboxes.
Uglier
Good thing I don't use my overhead project much at all as it has a new job being a shelf for math workshop materials. Sorry to say that these are math workshop materials from last week and the week before. I even have a student who treats it as a shelf and leaves his waterbottle and snack there during the day sometimes.
My desk. It is a mess. I want to get rid of it because it is either covered, in the process of being uncovered or being recovered. And the food on it is not mine. I have some firsties who need special snacks and store them on my desk because they often forget their backpacks.
The Ugliest (not at all typical)
My old collapsed teacher bookshelf. I wasn't very fond of it in the first place.
My desk was always just a place to pile things. I got rid of it a couple of years ago, and it was one of the best things I have done to arrange my classroom. I did not realize how much valuable space it was taking up!
