I need a break can I go to the bathroom? Here's my hall pass...
as I am joining Reagan at Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits for this fun little break from it all.
P- Product
Currently my favorite product is Raining Three Digit Operations. The activities can be found all over the room.
Here is the I Spy Subtraction game posted around the room. I even got tricky and posted one behind the girl's bathroom pass. My students are even begging to play SCOOT again. Even the other math group who are near ready for the three digits are curious and willing to try out these activities.
A-Area
My favorite area is the library/second whole group area. Crazy enough I am not the one that teaches here. I teach up front with the smartboard, but I love how cozy this area feels. Plus it has the cute teal cube. (Don't mind the dirty floor the room hadn't been vacuumed before I took this.)
S-Signal
I love saying Ok, freeze or Statue Time and having students drop what they are doing. Some of their statues can become very interesting. This awesome tool, from Class Tools has been used all year long. It has theme songs to Star Wars...we get many requests for that...Indiana Jones, Pink Panther, Mission Impossible and also some Beethoven and Mozart. Something for every mood.
You can find it here.
Plus you can adjust the time of each song to fit how much time you need. This has worked wonderful as we post it on the Smartboard so the students not only hear but see how much time they have left.
S-Sanity
My co-teacher keeps me sane. We both love to be silly so when things are going not so well we both have the ability to crack a joke. Sometimes we let the students in on the fun. Also our Work Wednesday has made Wednesday one of my favorite nights of the week.
I love so many things about this post.. but especially love that I found your blog! I am a first year second grade teacher. I'm checking out your three digit operations pack now :) I have heard about the Smartboard countdown timer thingy and just need to try it out! I think it would work great for my Math Daily 5 time!

I love that countdown signal, I think I may need to use it very soon! I've been on the lookout for new signals for attention and that seems like it will be great for the students, thanks!
