Let the Reading Craziness Begin!!

It is March 1st!!
aka...the beginning of March is Reading Month and we kicked it off in a big way today.

My co-teacher and I dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2 although we put our own twist on it as you can see.
We had way too much fun with this and making our blue "wigs". Did I mention we got to meet one of our State Senators and one of our State Representatives dressed like this?

Some of our co-workers as fish...

Our school theme for the month is Camping Out with a Good Book. We have a door decorating contest, but with more students than any class we did it our own way.

Every student has a person doing a camping activity. The painting was a bit crazy, like push the desks against the wall to make enough floor space for these large pictures and 30 kids painting all at the same time. Each student now has a roasting stick that will soon have marshmallows on it to keep track of how many minutes they read during the month.

And of course we had to be part of this...
The best part we didn't even have to pose for this. We had these pictures already on our computers.

  2. I tried to talk our staff into dressing as THINGS, but they didn't go for it. Too bad, because you guys look great! My sister's school did it last year. All the teachers were Things. Their numbers were their room number. Maybe next year. ~Stacy @ http://new-in-room-202.blogspot.com
