Five for Friday- A Hodgepodge

I finally took the time to join this fun linky and I am not even late in posting!

1. My home

I got to spend the last weekend being a tourist to my home- wineries, fall colors, and getting almost all my favorite dishes at my local restaurants. In the moment at the marina it just hit me - I can't believe I get to call this place my home.
The yard! Look at all those leaves!

One of the local marinas where I have swam, been on boat rides, beach days, playing on the playground, and jumping off the decks.

2. Science

I am falling in love with teaching science again. Maybe because I get to teach outside of a 1st and 2nd grade curriculum.  We started finished our Light unit this week. Our final project was a big hit. More details about this coming. Then we started our animal unit. I am not sure who is more excited me or the students!
One student's mobile. She really took the art side of the project seriously.

3. Student Notes

This one made my day. I have gotten teacher "love" notes before, but never have I had this comment included " You can chuck a pretty good ball you know." It still makes me laugh because
a) No students have ever told me this before
b) He writes exactly how he talks.

4. Mustaches

My best friend just had a baby and I couldn't resist get him this treat. It is so darn cute/funny!
He looks so handsome in it too!

5. Math Workbooks

This is the first time I have been teaching where each student has their own workbook. They love it. I love it. The trees love it- as I no longer spend too much time and paper on making copies. I consider myself lucky. I swear it is the little things in life.

  2. Awww, what a sweet note-that's definitely a keeper! I love your picks of the fall leaves--I moved from PA to Texas and fall is the only thing I really miss.
