Book for Visualizing- The Black Book of Colors

We are busy working on our stamina for Daily 4. With the way, it is set up we do everything but Listen to Reading. We are also incorporating CAFE. This is my first year working in CAFE and I am a fan! Not only our my students using the comprehension terms, but they are great with creating the visuals for each skill.
This week we are working on the skill or visualizing or making a picture. I pulled this book off my shelf for it and man was it a great pick for this skill.

The Black Book of Colors by Menena Cottin. Click here to see more of the book.
If you have never seen it, go check it out! The book is entirely in black with the text using sensory details. The book is also written in Braille. (My students were amazed by this). The pictures are embossed in black which makes the reader truly create their own pictures to understand what chicks the color of mustard would look like or how a sky will change to have a downpour start.

Here is an example of the pictures.

Happy Monday!
